本シリーズは『瀬戸内国際芸術祭2013』の『醤油倉庫蔵アーティスト・イン・レジデンス・プロジェクト』で制作・発表した作品。マテリアルの結晶化と溶解という「物質の循環」をテーマに、展示会場周辺で伝統的な製法で作られてきた醤油を素材として制作した。滞在制作では醤油の結晶化に適した支持体や室温などをテストし、制作プロセスやテストピースを展示会場に併設されたアトリエスペースで公開。2014 年にはコミッションワークを受けて同シリーズの新作を発表した。

CIRCULATION
This series was produced at the “Artist in Residence Project at the Soy Sauce Warehouse” in Shodoshima Island as a part of the “Setouchi Triennale 2013.” This series revolves around the theme of ‘circulation’ by focusing on the crystallization and melting of material objects. The photographs depict the soy sauce manufactured using traditional techniques around the exhibition space. For this series, various controlled variables were tested. One such variable was the room temperature which enabled the crystallization of the soy sauce. These experimentations and the process of creating these works were displayed in an atelier space connected to the main exhibition space. The following year, he produced a new version of this series by commissioned work.
