いま、世界はストリートビューをはじめ、監視カメラやドライブレコーダーなど、カメラを持った撮影者という主体が不在のまま、日々膨大に記録されている。また、世界的なパンデミックによって「バーチャル展示」が普及し、3D空間スキャナーが生成する精緻な空間イメージも一般化した。本作は、ARCHI HATCHがMatterportという3D空間スキャナーで撮影した中銀カプセルタワービルの3Dアーカイブ空間を回遊しながら、写真家が撮影したかのような画角を探して制作した。自動的かつ全体的に世界がスキャンされる時代の写真家の存在について考察した作品。

Nowadays, the world is vastly recorded daily by street views, surveillance cameras, drive recorders, etc., without the presence of a photographer with a camera. In addition, “virtual exhibitions” have become widespread due to the global pandemic, and elaborate spatial images generated by 3D spatial scanners have also become commonplace. In this work, Koyama created this work by circumnavigating the 3D archive space of the Nakagin Capsule Tower Building, which was captured by ARCHI HATCH with a 3D spatial scanner called Matterport, to find the angle of view as if it had been taken by a photographer. This work examines the existence of the photographer in an age when the world is automatically and holistically scanned.
